William J. Gardner – President/CEO
With over 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Gardner has managed, appraised, and sold more than $1 Billion worth of assets. As President and CEO of Greenwich Industrial Services, Bill sold the company to DoveBid in 2000 where he expanded his global management experience as DoveBid’s President of Worldwide Auction Services to include 20 offices throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Amsterdam, Germany, France, and Spain. Bill, along with his partners, founded The Branford Group in 2005, and has since built The Branford Group into an international company that does in excess of $80 million in sales annually.
From 2004 - 2007, Bill held the elected position of President of the IAA (Industrial Auctioneers Association), an organization consisting of the 49 largest industrial auctioneering firms in the world, and continues to sit on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the NAA (National Auctioneers Association), a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), a graduate of the Missouri Auction School, and a licensed auctioneer in numerous states. Bill earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business at Gettysburg College.
James F. Gardner - Senior Vice President, Auction Services
Leadership and vision are the core attributes of industry veteran James Gardner, a Founding Partner of The Branford Group. With his career spanning more than 30 years, Mr. Gardner has sold over $1 Billion worth of assets in virtually every industrial sector and geography. James was a founding partner of Greenwich Industrial Services where he managed the global auction sales force as the Senior Vice President. In 2000 after solidifying the sale of Greenwich Industrial Services to DoveBid, James continued in his managerial role as Senior Vice President of sales. In 2005, The Branford Group attained international recognition, and James’ expertise in developing global Asset Recovery Programs expanded to include Toyota, Panasonic, Moll Industries, Thermo Fisher, Sumitomo, Pitney Bowes, GDX Automotive and Duraco Products.
James is an active member of IAA, NAA, ASA, TMA, and MDNA (Machinery Dealers National Association), and is a licensed auctioneer. A graduate of Bentley College, he earned dual degrees in Finance and Accounting.
Scott C. Lonkart – Senior Vice President, Operations
Mr. Lonkart launched his career in 1991 as a Field Manager with Thomas Industries. He developed a strong acumen of understanding the intricacies of the manufacturing processes and used machinery values. He has managed and conducted more than 600 auctions throughout North America and Europe in the years since. As one of the Founding Partners of Greenwich Industrial Services, Scott sourced new business and supervised all operations efforts for worldwide auction projects. After the sale of Greenwich Industrial Services to DoveBid, he took on the role of Director of Operations and was a lead auctioneer calling bids at more than 50 auctions annually. As a Founding Partner at The Branford Group, Scott has conducted auctions for Zenith, Chrysler, Everett Charles, G-Tech, TTM, and many more.
Scott maintains active roles in NAA, MDNA, and IAA. He is a graduate of the Missouri Auction School and is a licensed Auctioneer in more than 15 states in the U.S. He is a recognized asset recovery specialist in the Electronics, Plastics, and Metalworking Industries.
Michael J. DiProspero, ASA – Senior Vice President, Auctions & Valuations
Mr. DiProspero brings over 25 years of experience in the valuation and auction industries, specializing in industrial machinery & equipment and inventories. Prior to founding The Branford Group, Mike assisted clients worldwide with their auction and valuation needs as a Director and an Auctioneer for DoveBid. Mike was also a partner and founder of Greenwich Industrial Services managing the appraisal division.
Mike is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) through the American Society of Appraisers, a graduate of the Missouri Auction School, and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He has also served as an Expert Witness for the United States Bankruptcy Court System and the American Arbitration Association. Mr. DiProspero graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from University of Maryland College Park.
Marc D. Mazzalupo, ASA, CEA – Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Mazzalupo has over 15 years of experience in the disposition and valuation of machinery & equipment and inventory. Prior to joining The Branford Group, he managed the appraisal operations of DoveBid Valuation Services’ offices in Branford, Connecticut and Westborough, Massachusetts. Mr. Mazzalupo started his career in his family’s business which specialized in the resale and appraisal of equipment related to the plastics industry. Marc has completed assignments domestically and in Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, Indonesia, Australia, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers, a Certified Equipment Appraiser (CEA) with the Association of Machinery & Equipment Appraisers (AMEA) and an active member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). His professional education includes advanced courses in the appraisal of machinery and inventory.
Marc is the sitting Second Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and previously served two terms as Chapter President. He has testified as an Expert Witness for the United States Bankruptcy Court System and provided ad-valorem tax appeal support. Mr. Mazzalupo graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in International Finance and Marketing and a minor in International Business.
Kristin Gardner Taylor - Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Taylor brings nearly 20 years of diversified accounting and
management experience to The Branford Group. Holding senior-level
accountancy positions at Avatar Alliance and Dental Management Companies
early in her career, Kristin then moved onto DoveBid in 2003, where she
was responsible for accounting projects in both their U.S. and European
offices for companies such as British Airways, Ford, Grolsch, and
Jumeirah Group. At The Branford Group, Kristin oversees the Finance and
Human Resources departments.
She is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Holding a Bachelor’s
degree in accounting, Kristin attended Boston College and graduated from
Arizona State University.
Brian Garfield - Director of Operations
Mr. Garfield began his career in the industrial auction industry more than 15 years ago as a Project Manager at Greenwich Industrial Services. His talents were noticed by DoveBid, where, as the Coordinator of Project Management, he managed a multitude of diverse responsibilities, including field staff and facility supervision, accounting, logistics oversight, as well as writing specifications, and generating marketing materials including advertising, catalogs, and web content. Brian joined The Branford Group in 2005, and has managed accounts such as Xerox, Zenith, ADC, Organon, Tyco, and BF Goodrich.
Brian earned his Bachelors degree from New England College, with double majors in Business.
Zachery D. Shepherd - Vice President, Valuations & Consulting
Mr. Shepherd has over 8 years’ experience as a trusted equipment and industrial inventory appraiser. He joined The Branford Group as an Associate in the Valuations Division in 2011 and was promoted to Manager in 2013. Mr. Shepherd is responsible for coordinating, researching and managing valuations projects worldwide. Prior to beginning his professional career with The Branford Group he worked as an intern for Whiting-Turner Contracting Company assisting jobsite financial managers. Zach also served as the assistant to the Chief Financial Officer for the Institute of Bio-Analytics. Zach is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and is currently the Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) through the American Society of Appraisers, having completed ME201-ME204 Machinery and Equipment Valuation – Advanced Topics and Report Writing, as well as 15-USPAP certification.
Mr. Shepherd graduated from Assumption College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accounting and a minor in Management.
